DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:ABSTRACT: The emergence of cloud computing in commercial sectors has demonstrated the cost effectiveness of consolidating computing resources. For HPC communities, there are still many challenges. This workshop focuses on HPC cloud computing with an emphasis on practice and experiences, programming methods/models that can tolerate large scale volatile environments, virtualized GPU performance and reliability studies. This year, we have assembled researchers to report performance studies comparing traditional HPC cluster against HPC cloud, military applications of computing clouds, MPI security studies, failure prevention methods, GPU for the cloud, and innovative methods to understand the movements of individually identifiable entities in the cloud data.
