Exascale IO Initiative: Progress Status
SESSION: Exascale IO Initiative: Progress Status
EVENT TYPE: Birds of a Feather
TIME: 12:15PM - 1:15PM
SESSION LEADER(S):Toni Cortes, Peter Braam, André Brinkmann
ROOM:155-F
ABSTRACT:
The EIOW intends to architect and ultimately implement an open source, upper level I/O middleware system suitable for exa-scale storage. It intends to be primarily motivated by the requirements of the applications, management and system architectures, and to a lesser extent by the constraints and traditions of the storage industry. The resulting middleware system is targeting adoption in the HPC community by creation of or integration into various HPC software components, such as libraries. We also target adoption by storage vendors to layer this on either existing or new products targeting scalable high performance storage.
Session Leader Details:
Toni Cortes (Primary Session Leader) - Barcelona Supercomputing Center
Peter Braam (Secondary Session Leader) - Xyratex
André Brinkmann (Secondary Session Leader) - Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz
